What to know when purchasing a fiber laser machine?

If you are looking for a used or new fiber laser machine, consider a few things. Before starting your search, you should have a few considerations in mind. The fiber laser cutting process is distinct from any of the other fabrications. Therefore, you will not require the same type of equipment as a shop down the street or even across town. The requirements of your system may be much less or be significantly more. Still, without a devoted emphasis on them, there is a risk of you being run over by fancy buzzwords and fantastic performance. Therefore, here are certain things you must think about before you buy a fiber laser system, whether used or new.

What are you going to cut?

What are you planning to chop with the Fiber laser machine Malaysia? When choosing your fiber laser cutting system, the material you will be cutting is the most crucial consideration. The material type will dictate the specific model of the cutter, the configuration,, and any gasses required.

What is it?

The machine’s capability will determine the fiber laser cutting system’s capacity. Stainless steel, aluminum, and cutting steel are suitable for cutting with a fiber laser system. However, there are certain limitations. For example, you cannot cut 1-inch aluminum.

Cost

The material’s thickness is the second most important factor you need to consider. The material thickness will dictate whether a fiber laser machine can easily cut it or not. You also need to figure out how much force will be needed to do it. The more power you require, the higher you have to invest, the higher the operating and maintenance expenditures. Therefore, special attention should be given to the speed cut charts provided with the laser system and focus on your requirement.

1.5 kW

This is an amazing option if you are cutting 1 by 4-inch steel, 16 GA SS or 0.090 AL or less.

2.0 kW

This is great for cutting 3 by 8-inch steel, 11 GA SS and 5/32 inch AL thickness.

Most buyers prefer the 6 kW and the higher wattage like the 8 kW and 12 kW options. These improve the speed capabilities of the machine and the range of the materials you are working on. Even though these options are not cheap, they are perfect for the highest production rating scenarios.

If you don’t want to go with a Fiber laser, you can go with UV flatbed printer. Check out UV flatbed printer supplier Malaysia to purchase the same.

How big?

You need to understand what are the dimensions of the parts? What is the C sheet size that you will be dealing with, what will be the largest component that you will be removing etc. many manufacturers offer systems that have sheet sizes of 5″ x 10″ and beyond, but several also offer an economical and compact system with automation capabilities starting at 4″ x 4″. Many manufacturers also choose these space-saving options for their shops, saving thousands of dollars in the process.
